An important thing to recognize is that different steroids act differently. These drugs cannot all be joined together in the same group, because each has different mechanisms of action and affects the body differently.
But at the same time, there are definitely some similarities in the way these substances affect the body.
One of these similarities is that almost all of them work by raising the level of testosterone in the body. Testosterone, of course, is the male hormone responsible for many of the characteristics that make men different from women – characteristics such as muscle mass, low body fat, hair, deep voice, aggression, etc.
